Saddle Coat German Shepherd

The Saddle Back Shepherds are the most recognized German Shepherds of all time. There are two colors found on their coat, as with all other German shepherd types apart from the solid black Shepherd. It is their distinct markings that set them apart from the different types.

The “saddle” in its name refers to the black fur patch on its back. The black part of the fur reminds people of a saddle on a horse. Another name for this pattern is “blanket.” The color other than black is usually tan and sometimes red.

Solid-colored German Shepherds are less common than saddlebacks. They sometimes have blue on them, but this is rare. If they do, though, then your puppy would be accepted in the competition. But they would often lose points because of their color.

Panda German Shepherd

Panda German Shepherds are very pretty. They are primarily white with black stripes. Sometimes they have tan stripes on their legs too. These colors are not standard, so it is unusual to see one of these dogs.

Like the appearance of these dogs, the panda is due to a genetic mutation. Having this type of fur does not mean they are a mixed breed. They are as healthy, agile, and strong as any other German Shepherd Dog.

Sable German Shepherd

The Sable German Shepherds are among the most beautiful and special dogs in their appearance. They are technically called “agouti” in many regions. This pattern known as Sable or Agouti does not manifest in a patchy manner as it does with the saddleback or the panda German Shepherd.

All German shepherds have fur that has a unique color pattern. They are not born with the pattern, but their fur changes gradually. Some colors may be more dominant than others, depending on what they were born with. When they are born, most German shepherd puppies usually have tan fur, and then their color pattern changes as they get older.

White German Shepherd

The white German Shepherd, also known as the Solid German Shepherd, is a type of German Shepherd. They are different because their dominant color is white instead of black. This means that they are more likely to have beautiful and luscious white fur.

The only difference between the two Solid German Shepherds is that black shepherds have color because they have a recessive gene. White shepherds have color because they have a dominant gene. You should not confuse a white German shepherd with albinism. They are two different things. White German shepherds are very rare, but they might be because people do not want them as competitors to race against other dogs.
